Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal ITS Engineer to lead delivery of high-profile transport technology projects across the UK, with flexible options for remote, regional office, or hybrid work.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in ITS infrastructure and systems engineering, mentor teams, ensure quality and safety standards, and contribute to business development at Principal level.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND with substantial relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of ITS infrastructure and systems design.
• Experience delivering highways technology projects.
• Experience with ITS standards and industry best practice.
• Experience operating within CDM 2015 and health, safety, quality and environmental management frameworks.
• Understanding of project management principles and delivery processes.
• Experience working within BIM and digital design environments.
• Strong communication skills and collaboration with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of ITS infrastructure and systems projects.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure high quality across deliverables.
• Mentor engineers and technicians within multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop innovative and practical engineering solutions for transport technology challenges.
• Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and project teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, health and safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Support project planning, commercial management and programme delivery.
• For Principal level, contribute to bid preparation, client relationships and growth initiatives.
