Job summary

Matchtech client, a global leader in sustainability solutions, is seeking a Principal Highways Engineer to join the Transport Planning and Engineering team in Manchester. The role is permanent and offers the opportunity to deliver high-profile highways projects across residential, commercial, energy and infrastructure sectors.

You will provide technical leadership, manage projects, design road junctions and S278/S171/S38 schemes, mentor engineers and collaborate with specialists.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience delivering UK highways and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK highway design guidance, standards and approval processes.
• Experience mentoring, managing and developing engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership and project management of highways and infrastructure projects.
• Preparation and review of General Arrangement Plans and highway designs.
• Design and delivery of S278/S171 Highway Schemes and S38 Highway Adoption Schemes.
• Development of highway layouts for new developments, including site access junctions, roundabouts and active travel measures.
• Client management, business development and proposal support.
• Mentoring, coaching and supporting the development of junior engineers and technicians.
