Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking a Principal Highways Engineer to lead complex highways and active travel design projects. You will mentor staff, provide technical direction, and coordinate with clients and design teams across local and national schemes.

The role requires a Chartered or near Chartered engineer with robust bid/tender experience and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary packages while delivering on time and budget. Hybrid working from Glasgow or Edinburgh is offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on highways and active travel projects.

• Solve engineering problems and develop works cost estimates.
• Review and oversee others' work; liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Support business development: bids, tenders, and client relationships.
