Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Water team in the UK. Based in Brighton, Southampton, London, High Wycombe or Reading, you will lead complex electrical and EICA design across major water and wastewater projects, setting technical direction and delivering high-quality outcomes.

You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and help shape project delivery, ensuring safety, reliability and sustainability across your portfolio

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with professional registration preferred.
• Extensive experience delivering electrical or EICA design for water, utilities, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects and provide technical direction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering standards, design processes and governance.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers; strong communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across complex water and wastewater projects from feasibility to construction support.
• Lead delivery of complex electrical and EICA design across major projects.
• Act as technical authority on design standards, approaches and delivery.
• Oversee production/review of key deliverables (SLDs, cable diagrams, network diagrams, specs, control philosophies).
• Collaborate with clients, PMs, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated outcomes.
• Mentor and develop engineers; contribute to capability growth within the team.
• Support business growth through client relationships, bids and frameworks.
