Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership across major water and wastewater projects in the UK. You will oversee electrical/EICA design from feasibility through construction, ensuring governance, quality, and strong client engagement.

You will mentor engineers, support bids and growth, and promote digital engineering and modern delivery methods within a growing Water business while delivering resilient, sustainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or IEng, or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience delivering electrical or EICA design in water sector or similar infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering standards, governance and QA.
• Excellent client relationship, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and EICA design from feasibility to construction support.
• Provide technical oversight, governance and quality assurance across delivery.
• Review and approve key electrical design documents, calculations and specs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor engineers and support bids and framework opportunities.
• Champion engineering best practice and continuous improvement.
