Job summary

AECOM's Energy team in the UK is expanding its transmission and distribution capabilities. We seek an experienced engineer to support electrical design through power system studies and grid-code compliance across lifecycle stages from feasibility to commissioning.

You will use PSCAD, PowerFactory and PSS/E, contribute to budgets and schedules, liaise with OEMs and clients, and help prepare technical specifications while promoting innovation and collaboration within our team.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design consultancy or OEM/utility network planning

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of electrical design through power system studies.
• Undertake detailed power system/grid code compliance studies using PowerFactory, PSCAD and PSS/E.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Undertake grid connection due diligence including prospecting, optioneering, risk assessment and capacity/constraints assessment.
• Contribute to PS&E package discipline components.
• Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates.
• Support quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections.
• Provide input to budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate with OEMs and clients to drive technical outcomes.
• Support bids and proposals.
