Job summary

AECOM is looking for an experienced electrical engineer to join our Energy team in the UK, focusing on grid connection and network planning for renewable energy projects. You will support electrical design through power system studies and provide input to bids and proposals.

You will work with PSCAD, PowerFactory, and PSS/E, deliver high‑quality studies, and liaise with OEMs and clients to drive technical outcomes while benefiting from our flexible hybrid working model and career development

Qualifications

Proven experience with engineering design consultancy or utility networks.
Knowledge of UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5 and P28 guidelines.
Proficient with PSCAD, PowerFactory and Python scripting.
Understanding of HV substation principles and power electronics.

Responsibilities

Support electrical design through power system studies and grid code compliance.
Undertake detailed grid studies using PSCAD, PowerFactory and PSS/E.
Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Perform grid prospecting, optioning, risk assessment and capacity analysis.
Develop cost estimates and inputs for budgets and schedules.
Support quality control reviews of calculations and drawings.
Prepare technical specification sections.
Contribute to bids and proposals and client engagement.
