Qualifications

• Proven relevant professional experience in electrical design consultancy or utility network planning.
• Strong understanding of UK Grid Code (G99, G5/5, P28) and guidelines for connecting new generators and loads.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to liaise with clients and OEMs.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of electrical design through power system studies.
• Undertake detailed power system/grid code compliance studies using tools such as PSCAD, PowerFactory and PSS/E.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Undertake grid connection due diligence including grid prospecting, connection optioneering, risk assessment and capacity/constraints assessment.
• Use expertise in completing discipline components of PS&E package.
• Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Perform or support quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections.
• Provide input to engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
• Liaise with OEMs and clients to drive the technical outcomes.
• Support with bids/proposals
