Job summary

Macstaff is seeking a Senior or Principal Power Systems Engineer to lead complex power studies for data centre and critical infrastructure projects in the UK. Based from London or Manchester with hybrid working, you will deliver high-quality calculations and engage with clients across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor engineers, develop technical leadership, and contribute to international project delivery within a global consultancy.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or progressing toward chartership.

Responsibilities

Undertake and lead complex power system studies and electrical network analysis.
Deliver load flow and short circuit / fault level studies.
Complete protection coordination and discrimination studies.
Undertake arc flash assessments and transient analysis.
Develop robust LV, MV and HV power distribution solutions.
Use industry-leading software including ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or equivalent.
Support electrical infrastructure, resilience and grid connection strategies.
Produce high-quality technical calculations, reports and engineering documentation.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical, civil and infrastructure teams.
Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Review technical outputs and provide engineering assurance.
Mentor and develop less experienced Power Systems Engineers.
At Principal level, lead technical delivery, multidisciplinary teams and key client relationships.
