Job summary

MacStaff is seeking a Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer to lead power systems studies, design for data centres, and manage client relationships from London or Manchester with hybrid work. The role combines technical leadership with project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

You will work on complex load-flow, protective coordination, arc-flash assessments, and develop LV/MV/HV solutions using ETAP, SKM, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or progressing towards chartership.
• Experience in power systems design and project delivery.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Knowledge of LV/MV/HV networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex power system studies and electrical network analysis.
• Deliver load flow and short circuit studies.
• Develop protection coordination and arc-flash assessments.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead project delivery.
