Job summary

Vertus Partners is seeking a senior Platform/Cloud Engineer to own technical solutions from requirements through delivery, collaborating with senior platform engineers. The role involves shaping the technical approach, developing a delivery plan, and leading delivery across teams.

You will design and improve Kubernetes environments, implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Bicep, and contribute to cloud networking, security and platform architecture.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial experience as a Platform Engineer or Cloud Engineer.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience, AKS or EKS, and building/enhancing Kubernetes environments.
• Strong Terraform and/or Bicep design experience (not just consumption).
• Knowledge of cloud networking (VNets/VPCs), routing, firewalls and security controls.
• Experience designing Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated infrastructure deployment.
• Understanding of containers and microservices in cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with platform components in Kubernetes (e.g., Kafka).
• Good cloud security IAM knowledge.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, observability.
• Problem-solving and cross-team collaboration; finance sector exposure.

Responsibilities

• Designing and improving cloud platform environments and infrastructure.
• Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (Bicep to Terraform).
• Designing, configuring and enhancing Kubernetes platforms and related services.
• Working on cloud networking, connectivity, security and platform architecture.
• Supporting Disaster Recovery capabilities.
• Working with cloud databases for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Developing IAM templates and access processes.
• Building automation for provisioning and management of environments.
• Identifying opportunities to improve scalability, resilience and efficiency.
• Contributing to platform standards and reusable solutions; owning projects across teams.
• Taking ownership of technical projects and coordinating delivery across multiple teams.
