Job summary

Lean Tree is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to lead and deliver complex platform changes for client engagements. The role combines hands‑on cloud, container and IaC work with leadership of the platform team and collaboration with engineering leadership.

You will drive secure, scalable platform infrastructure, guide design choices, and contribute to Lean Tree’s engineering practice while maintaining high standards of delivery and client value.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on AWS platform design and operation across multi‑account environments.
• Kubernetes platform design, operation and support, AWS EKS preferred.
• Advanced Infrastructure as Code capabilities using Terraform; experience with Atlantis and/or Digger.
• Security‑first mindset embedding controls into cloud, IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Git‑based development workflows and modern CI/CD tooling.
• Experience building self‑service platform capabilities and IDPs to reduce developer friction.
• Experience deploying, operating and troubleshooting on AWS with shared platform services.
• Strong observability and Site Reliability Engineering practices and SLOs.
• Strong Linux/UNIX administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear technical leadership to guide engineers through complex platform changes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate production AWS platforms and multi‑account environments.
• Lead complex platform engineering work and provide technical leadership.
• Design and operate Kubernetes platforms (AWS EKS) including networking, service mesh and workloads.
• Develop reusable CI/CD capabilities and secure deployment pipelines.
• Implement Terraform IaC and related automation tooling.
• Embed security controls into cloud platforms, code, and processes.
• Provide guidance to client teams onboarding products to shared platform services.
• Set and monitor KPIs and SLIs for platforms and services.
• Promote automation to improve quality and speed of delivery.
• Coach engineers and maintain an effective platform team.
