Job summary

AECOM in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead overhead line design within the Transmission & Distribution team. You’ll work on technically challenging projects, including the National Grid Great Grid Upgrade, contributing to design, feasibility studies and client engagement.

The role requires a Chartered Engineer or equivalent, with UK project experience in T&D, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent required.
• CEng Chartered Engineer status preferred; recognised electrical engineering institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in overhead line design on multi-discipline projects.
• Engage with clients on large UK T&D programmes and support proposals.
• Contribute to project timelines, resources, budgets and goals.
• Support project implementation, planning, and public consultation events.
• Perform design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis and loading trees.
• Conduct feasibility studies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Develop technical solutions and present to clients.
• Produce and checked engineering drawings and calculations.
