Job summary

AECOM in London is seeking a Principal OHL Engineer to lead and deliver technically challenging overhead line projects up to 400kV within the Transmission & Distribution team.

You will provide project technical support, develop designs, conduct feasibility studies, and assist with proposals, drawings, and client presentations.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status, a degree in engineering, and experience with National Grid/SSE/SPT standards, plus strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognised electrical/power discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering transmission projects to National Grid, SSE or SPT standards.
• Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage with clients to deliver technically challenging OHL design projects.
• Provide project technical support and design for transmission projects (up to 400kV).
• Originate and check engineering deliverables such as complex designs, reports, proposals and drawings.
• Perform internal quality checks of engineering drawings and calculations.
