Job summary

AECOM is seeking a talented engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution team in the UK, delivering overhead line design for major projects such as National Grid's Great Grid Upgrade. You'll apply PLS-CADD modelling and sag-tension calculations.

You’ll support proposals, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to feasibility studies and public consultations while growing within a global infrastructure leader committed to delivering a better world.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or power engineering.
• CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g. IET).
• Experience delivering UK Transmission & Distribution projects (National Grid, SSE, SPT).
• Overhead line engineering experience up to 400kV.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
• Contribute to large programmes like GGP projects.
• Support in proposals detailing timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
• Provide input through project implementation, statutory planning, and public consultations.
• Design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, sag-tension calculations, and conductor/insulator selection.
• Support feasibility studies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
