Job summary

Jacobs in the UK is seeking a senior/principal ecologist with a special interest in ornithology to join our award-winning ecology team across the UK. You will lead ornithological surveys and provide expert advice to clients while collaborating with hydrologists, engineers and planners.

You’ll influence major projects, support environmental assessments and have clear progression within a global framework and chartership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Background in terrestrial ecology with technical reporting and impact assessment.
• Experience with national legislation and guidance related to ecology.
• Good bird identification skills and understanding of bird survey techniques.
• Ability to lead ornithological surveys and provide expert client advice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver challenging, diverse projects across sectors including transport, water and energy.
• Lead ornithological surveys and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide high-quality ecological input and support Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Travel across the UK for site and desk-based tasks as required.
