Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior/principal ecologist with a special interest in ornithology to join our national ecology team. You will lead ornithological surveys, provide expert advice to clients, and work across the UK on a mix of desk and site-based tasks.

The role offers opportunities to influence projects, bid strategy, and professional development through our frameworks and networks. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and travel as required, contributing to major projects while

Qualifications

• Background in terrestrial ecology with experience in technical reporting and impact assessment
• Good bird identification skills and understanding of bird survey techniques
• Membership of a professional body (or eligibility for Chartership)

Responsibilities

• Deliver challenging, diverse projects across transport, water and energy sectors
• Lead ornithological surveys and provide expert client advice
• Support Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulations Appraisals
• Work across the UK in desk and site-based tasks, with some travel and away from home periods
