Job summary

Jacobs is expanding its UK Ecology Team and seeking an Ecologist to contribute to high-impact infrastructure and environmental projects. You’ll join a dynamic, collaborative environment with offices across the UK and a hybrid working model, supporting career development and professional accreditation.

As part of a global company, you’ll engage with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality ecology inputs, mentor colleagues, and contribute to shaping environmental policy and biodiversity

Qualifications

• Background in terrestrial ecology with significant years relevant industry experience.
• Full membership of a professional body (or ability to obtain full membership).
• Experienced in running ecological inputs on medium-large scale projects.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• High level of personal responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Delivering challenging, diverse infrastructure projects with ecological input.
• Desk and site-based tasks across projects.
• Lead and manage ecological monitoring programmes and surveys.
• Provide expert advice in terrestrial ecology to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor and share skills within the team and with global communities of practice.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to ensure ecology requirements are recognised and acted upon.
