Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior/principal ecologist with a special interest in ornithology to join our award-winning ecology team across the UK. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality ecological input, lead ornithological surveys, and deliver expert advice to clients on environmental assessments.

The role offers opportunities for progression, global collaboration, and involvement in bid strategy and growth within a respected, international practice.

Qualifications

• Background in terrestrial ecology with experience in technical reporting and impact assessment and knowledge of national legislation and guidance.
• Good bird identification skills and understanding of bird ecology and survey techniques.
• Ability to design field surveys, collect data, and analyze results.

Responsibilities

• Lead ornithological surveys and provide expert advice to clients (internal and external).
• Support Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitats Regulations Appraisals.
• Work across UK, staying away from home as required, and contribute to other ecological surveys and tasks.
