Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is recruiting for Senior/Principal Consultant roles in Environmental Permitting & Nuclear Regulation. You will help deliver nationally significant nuclear projects, from Hinkley Point C to Sizewell C, and support the UK’s transition to a secure, low carbon energy future.

The team offers collaborative mentoring and a broad development pathway. You will join a growing team of experts across multiple offices with UK-wide collaboration and occasional travel, contributing to

Qualifications

• Background in regulation, licensing, radiological protection, radioactive waste management, nuclear operations, consultancy or related field.
• Membership of a professional body is welcome but not essential.
• Ability to deliver regulatory advice and develop Environmental Permits and regulatory cases.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely permitting, licensing and consenting of nuclear projects and contribute to investable nuclear projects.
• Advise reactors vendors, developers and licensees on regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Develop Environmental Cases for nuclear facilities and demonstrate Best Available Techniques (BAT) and ALARP principles.
• Ensure compliance with permit and licence requirements and support safety, security and sustainability standards.
