Job summary

WSP is seeking a Chartered Civil Engineer to lead technical delivery across nuclear programmes, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will shape site development, earthworks, drainage and complex structures while mentoring teams and contributing to strategic growth. The role offers hybrid working in the UK and opportunities for Chartership and professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng/MICE).
• Experience delivering civil engineering projects through the nuclear asset lifecycle.
• Experience leading design and delivery of civil engineering solutions.
• Strong understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes and nuclear standards.
• Experience leading feasibility studies and concept design.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across complex projects.
• Knowledge of design risk management, CDM Regulations and safe-by-design.
• Excellent technical report writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering projects and multidisciplinary workstreams across nuclear programmes.
• Define civil engineering solutions for site development, roads and access infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, utility networks and structures.
• Provide technical leadership and assurance, ensuring designs meet client requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Lead feasibility studies, optioneering, site assessments and concept design activities.
• Resolve complex technical challenges and guide project teams and partners.
• Coordinate civil engineering requirements across structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines.
• Oversee preparation and review of calculations, specifications and risk assessments.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders as a senior technical contact.
• Support proposals, fee development and work-winning activities.
• Mentor civil engineering teams and support technical excellence and Chartership growth.
• Contribute to strategic development and growth of WSP's Civil Nuclear business.
