Job summary

National Highways is looking for a Senior Network Planner - Resilience to provide leadership and expertise in resilience, emergency and severe weather response planning. The role is hybrid and based from Bristol or Exeter, with driving required and a clean driving record.

The role leads development of processes, ensures best practices, and liaises with regional teams and external stakeholders to minimise impacts on customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in resilience, emergency and severe weather response planning.

Responsibilities

• Proactively analysing the effectiveness of existing plans and arrangements in meeting service level expectations and implement improvement initiatives; manage risks and issues that affect delivery.
• Providing advice and consultancy where required to minimise the impact to Operations in the event of an emergency.
• To develop and recommend best practice methods for the ongoing improvement of processes and activities in scope.
• Proactively liaising with regional Operations colleagues and wider internal and external stakeholders to minimise the impact of planned and unplanned events on customers.
• Manage Network Resilience funding, identifying proposed schemes, liaising with service providers to develop opportunities, prioritising funding aligned to risk.
• Experience in contingency and business continuity planning and understanding of business objectives for resilience.
• Knowledge and understanding the Civil Contingency Act 2004 (desirable)
• Experience of creating, developing response plans including managing debriefs (desirable)
• Ability to implement company crisis management procedures and policies.
• Good communications and stakeholder management skills.
