Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Network Planner - Resilience to lead development and delivery of resilience, emergency and weather response plans from Bristol or Exeter. You will guide processes, ensure best practice, and drive improvements that benefit customers.

The role requires contingency and business continuity expertise, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to implement crisis procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in contingency and business continuity planning.
• Knowledge of Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (desirable).
• Experience creating, developing response plans including managing debriefs (desirable).
• Ability to implement company crisis management procedures and policies.
• Good communications and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively analysing the effectiveness of existing plans and arrangements; manage risks and issues that affect delivery.
• Providing advice and consultancy to minimise impact to Operations in emergencies.
• Develop and recommend best practice methods for ongoing improvement of processes and activities in scope.
• Proactively liaising with regional Operations colleagues and wider stakeholders to minimise impact of events on customers.
• Manage Network Resilience funding, identifying proposed schemes and prioritising funding aligned to risk.

About the job.

At National Highways, we're looking for a Senior Network Planner -Resilience to provide leadership, subject matter expertise and guidance, assuring the development and delivery of resilience, emergency and severe weather response plans.

You will use your experience to lead the development of relevant processes and procedures, ensuring they adopt best practice, intelligence insights and ad-hoc changes for maximum customer benefit.

This is a hybrid working role and will be based from our Bristol or Exeter office.

Please note that you will be required to drive as part of your role, and you will need to have no more than 3 points to be considered for this position and during employment.

• Proactively analysing the effectiveness of existing plans and arrangements in meeting service level expectations and implement improvement initiatives; manage risks and issues that affect delivery.
• Providing advice and consultancy where required to minimise the impact to Operations in the event of an emergency.
• To develop and recommend best practice methods for the ongoing improvement of processes and activities in scope.
• Proactively liaising with regional Operations colleagues (e.g. Service Delivery and Scheme Delivery) and wider internal and external stakeholders (local authorities and local resilience forums) to minimise the impact of planned and unplanned events on customers.
• Manage Network Resilience funding, identifying proposed schemes, liaising with service providers to develop opportunities, prioritising funding aligned to risk.

About you.
