SP Energy Networks in Wrexham / Llandudno area is seeking a Senior Network Design Engineer to help plan and design the distribution network up to 33kV. You will lead assessments, develop practical engineering solutions, and deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that meet customer and business needs.

The role offers a competitive salary starting from £55,000 to £82,500, with hybrid working and opportunities to mentor junior engineers while supporting safer, greener energy projects

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience in a network design role.
• Knowledge of network construction and operational practices.
• Strong IT and system skills.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• As a Network Design Engineer, plan and design the distribution network for security, reliability, and asset longevity.
• Undertake network analysis, develop solutions for customer connections and reinforcements.
• Deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs aligning with customer and business needs.
• Lead assessment and delivery of customer connection requests per regulatory/licence requirements.
• Produce and review network designs and quotations for connections and alterations.
• Carry out network analysis and modelling to identify optimal technical solutions.
• Manage third-party Point of Connection and design approvals across licence areas.
• Apply engineering principles to improve performance, safety and longevity.
