Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Network Design Engineer in the United Kingdom to support planning and design of the distribution network, ensuring safety, reliability and long-term asset performance. You will deliver customer connections, project reinforcements and network alterations, with emphasis on regulatory compliance and sound technical solutions.

The role requires strong IT and modelling skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and develop practical solutions within a utility

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience in network design for distribution systems.
• Knowledge of design and operational practices for networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment and delivery of customer connection requests in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Produce and review network designs and quotations for new connections and reinforcements.
• Carry out network analysis and modelling to identify optimal technical solutions.
• Manage third party PO/C and design approval activities across licence areas.
• Apply engineering principles to enhance network performance and asset longevity.
• Identify innovative technical, procedural and commercial solutions.
• Build relationships with customers, stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Promote safe-by-design principles and support safety culture.
