Job summary
SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is seeking a Lead Design Engineer (x6) in Cambuslang to develop concept engineering solutions for transmission projects and guide multidisciplinary teams. The role offers a hybrid permanent contract with a salary from £60,800 to £79,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.
Closing date 15/09/2026. You'll work closely with Network Planning, Regulation and Project teams to shape investments, apply BIM in design, and ensure CDM and HSE best
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or HND with relevant industry experience.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
- Experience in the design and delivery of electrical infrastructure projects.
- Experience applying CDM regulations and Health & Safety best practice within a design environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and assess concept engineering solutions for transmission projects.
- Ensure designs comply with legislation, company policies and operational requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams throughout project development.
- Promote the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Monitor industry developments and apply new technologies to improve safety, efficiency and cost performance.
- Review engineering documentation and support the preparation of accurate project budgets.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards, policies and best practice.
- Mentor and support engineers across the wider team.
