Our Global IT Infrastructure department now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Modern Workplace Engineer to join our team on a 12-month FTC. This is a remote position; however, the successful candidate will be expected to travel to our London Office once every two weeks. All travel expenses related to these visits will be fully reimbursed.

About the role

As a key member of the Global IT Infrastructure department, the Senior Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for the daily management and optimization of all cloud-based technologies, supporting approximately 100,000 users across Cognita’s four global regions. This role requires deep expertise in cloud migration strategies, with proven experience leading the migration of on-premises workloads to Microsoft Azure using tools such as Azure Migrate and DRMigrate. The ideal candidate will be adept at evaluating, designing, and implementing scalable and secure cloud solutions, offering strategic insights that align with the evolving needs and security requirements of the organization.

Reporting to the Modern Workplace Manager, you will be accountable for championing cloud services and ensuring that they are seamlessly delivered to our business customers. You should be able to plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy enterprise-scale Cloud, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions.

This is a global role, supporting the Cognita Group of Companies and schools throughout the world.

Who we are looking for

To be eligible for this role, you should possess a relevant degree or Microsoft certification, along with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Azure and Modern Workplace, particularly in executing on-premises to Azure migration projects. We would also expect:

• Strong expertise in Microsoft cloud services, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Proven experience leading the migration of on-prem workloads to Azure using tools such as Azure Migrate.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to multitask and manage a large and varied workload with high levels of self-organization.
