Our Global IT Infrastructure department now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Modern Workplace Engineer to join our team on a 12-month FTC. This is a remote position; however, the successful candidate will be expected to travel to our London Office once every two weeks, with all travel expenses fully reimbursed.

About the role

As a key member of the Global IT Infrastructure department, the Senior Modern Workplace Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing all cloud-based technologies supporting approximately 100,000 users across Cognita’s four regions. The role requires expertise in cloud migration strategies, including leading migrations of on-premises workloads to Microsoft Azure using tools such as Azure Migrate and DRS.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in evaluating, designing, and implementing scalable and secure cloud solutions, providing strategic insights aligned with organizational needs and security standards.

Reporting to the Modern Workplace Manager, you will champion cloud services, ensuring seamless delivery to our business customers. You should be capable of planning, analyzing, designing, testing, and deploying enterprise-scale Cloud, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions.

This is a global role supporting the Cognita Group of Companies and schools worldwide.

Who we are looking for:

To be eligible, you should possess a relevant degree or Microsoft certification, with proven experience in Microsoft Azure and Modern Workplace, especially in executing on-premises to Azure migration projects. We also expect:

• Strong expertise in Microsoft cloud services, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Proven experience leading on-premises workloads migration to Azure using tools such as Azure Migrate.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to multitask, manage a varied workload, and demonstrate high levels of self-organization.
