Our Global IT Infrastructure department has an exciting opportunity for an Senior Modern Workplace Engineer to join our team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. This is a remote position; however, the successful candidate will be expected to travel to our London office biweekly, with all travel expenses reimbursed.

About the role

As a key member of the Global IT Infrastructure department, the Senior Modern Workplace Engineer will manage and optimize all cloud-based technologies supporting approximately 100,000 users across Cognita’s regions. The role requires expertise in cloud migration strategies, with proven experience leading migrations of on-premises workloads to Microsoft Azure using tools such as Azure Migrate and DRMigrate. The candidate should be skilled in designing and implementing scalable, secure cloud solutions that align with organizational needs and security standards.

Reporting to the Modern Workplace Manager, you will champion cloud services, ensuring seamless delivery to business users. Responsibilities include planning, analyzing, designing, testing, and deploying enterprise-scale Cloud, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions.

This is a global role supporting Cognita’s schools worldwide.

Who we are looking for

To qualify, you should have a relevant degree or Microsoft certification, with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Azure and Modern Workplace, especially in executing on-premises to Azure migration projects. We also expect:

• Strong expertise in Microsoft cloud services, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Proven experience leading Azure migrations using tools like Azure Migrate.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to multitask, manage a varied workload, and demonstrate high self-organization.
