Job summary

ASOS is building the next generation of AI-powered Search and Discovery experiences for millions of customers worldwide. As Senior ML Engineer, you will design, build and operate platforms enabling training, deployment and serving of ML models at scale.

You will collaborate with scientists, software engineers and product managers to create tooling and deployment frameworks that power recommendation, search, personalisation and emerging AI apps.

Qualifications

• Experience across modern software engineering, distributed systems and ML infrastructure.
• Background in Backend/Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Engineering, MLOps or ML Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable ML platforms and infrastructure for model training, deployment and serving.
• Develop backend services powering recommendations, search and personalisation for millions of customers.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ML and data products.
• Design batch and real-time inference architectures using cloud-native tech.
• Improve reliability and observability across ML workloads.
• Build tooling to enable data scientists and ML engineers to deploy models safely.
• Own production services and incident management with RCA.
• Optimise distributed compute and resource utilisation in cloud environments.
• Drive IaC adoption and platform standardisation across systems.
• Contribute to architectural decisions across recommendation, search and AI platforms.
• Mentor engineers and promote software engineering best practices.
