Job summary

ASOS is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Search & Recommenders team, building scalable ML systems powering product discovery for millions of customers.

You will design, deploy and operate production ML models for search, ranking and personalisation, collaborating with scientists, engineers and product managers, and mentoring colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience applying ML and deep learning in production.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks and distributed computing.
• Experience working with distributed training infrastructure and GPU-based training.
• Strong software engineering principles and MLOps practices.
• Experience developing reliable, scalable ML systems in production.
• Ability to lead, mentor and support other engineers.
• Strong collaboration across engineering, science and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and improve ML systems powering search, ranking and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists and engineers to deploy ML solutions.
• Build, deploy and maintain batch and real-time ML models in production.
• Contribute to recommmendation, ranking and personalisation capabilities.
• Improve systems, codebase and engineering practices; suggest new features.
• Mentor other engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Help evolve ML standards and ways of working across the team.
