Job summary

ASOS is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Customer & Martech team. You will design and operate ML systems that power customer growth, marketing effectiveness, pricing and personalisation at scale.

You will work with Applied Scientists, Data Engineers and ML Engineers on the full lifecycle—from ideation to deployment and monitoring—delivering measurable value for customers and the business within a fast-paced fashion tech environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building, deploying and operating ML systems in production environments.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Python and modern engineering practices.
• Experience building scalable batch and real-time ML pipelines in cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of MLOps, including deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, observability.
• Experience with large-scale data processing technologies such as Spark.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost.
• Experience designing reliable APIs and services for ML-powered products.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and lead complex technical initiatives.
• Experience in customer intelligence, marketing optimisation, pricing, forecasting or personalisation.
• Experience building ML platforms or shared infrastructure.
• Exposure to experimentation frameworks, causal inference or measurement platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
• Track record of delivering impactful ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate ML systems for customer engagement, marketing, pricing and commerce.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of ML products: data ingestion, feature engineering, deployment, monitoring and optimisation.
• Productionise ML solutions to run reliably at scale across ASOS.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists to translate research into production systems.
• Contribute to MLOps platform and engineering best practices.
• Build tooling and infrastructure to accelerate ML delivery and reduce maintenance.
• Influence architectural decisions across ML products and platforms.
• Mentor engineers and uphold high standards of quality and reliability.
• Work on ML products that impact millions of customers and business outcomes.
