Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to lead mining studies and provide expert advice on methods, development paths, and optimisation strategies across projects. The role supports due diligence, interfaces with multidisciplinary teams, and involves travel both domestically and internationally.

The ideal candidate will have strong mine planning software skills, leadership experience, and excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or similar.
Proven experience in a mining role with project delivery.
Strong skills in mine planning software and related tools.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor teams.
Excellent communication, reporting, and analytical skills.
Consulting experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Conceive and deliver mining studies across the life cycle.
Advise on mining methods, development paths, and optimisation strategies.
Develop cost models and financial analyses for options and project economics.
Support due diligence reviews for M&A or project finance with multi-disciplinary teams.
Act as interface between mine advisory disciplines and capital projects.
Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Provide safety leadership and mentor junior engineers.
