Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal/Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Mining, and Minerals division. The role focuses on layout, design and specification of mineral processing facilities within a multi-disciplinary project team across the UK and beyond.

A degree in mechanical or mineral engineering is required, with strong project leadership and client-facing capabilities. The successful candidate will drive equipment specification, collaborate with suppliers, and ensure delivery quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• A degree in mechanical or mineral engineering is required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to layout, design and specification of mineral processing, metallurgical and hydrometallurgical facilities for studies and engineering contracts.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure equipment requirements are captured and fed into process plant design.
• Specify and select equipment, engaging with suppliers to meet project needs and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
• Resolve functional issues with engineering judgement and develop value-adding options to enhance project delivery.
