WSP is seeking a Principal / Senior Mechanical Engineer for Mining UK, based in the UK with responsibilities across mineral processing facilities. You will lead layout, design and specification, liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure compliance with corporate and statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• A Degree in mechanical or mineral engineering is required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to layout, design and specification of mineral processing, metallurgical and hydrometallurgical facilities as well as materials handling facilities for studies and engineering contracts.
• Liaise with other engineering and project disciplines to ensure equipment requirements are captured and engineering information is fed back into the process plant design process.
• Specify and select equipment and engage with the equipment supply chain to ensure that project needs are captured and met.
• Ensure work complies with corporate and legislative requirements and procedures to maintain consistency and quality of project delivery.
• Address and resolve functional issues within a project through application of technical capabilities and engineering judgement, generating value-adding options for clients.
