Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of mechanical design on complex, multi-disciplinary water projects in the UK. You will coordinate teams, produce technical deliverables, and ensure quality and timely milestones across domestic and international projects.

You will apply broad design integration knowledge for pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing systems, while adhering to CDM/DSEAR and UK standards.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• A Chartered or Incorporated Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience coordinating or managing a Mechanical engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy including within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Broad knowledge to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
• Strong understanding of UK design standards, legislation, and best practices including CDM and DSEAR.
• Practical knowledge of design codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of Mechanical engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Produce and review technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Provide technical input into Mechanical aspects of complex projects and manage time and budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities within the team and other AtkinsRéalis teams.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and grow local Mechanical capabilities.
• Work independently with minimal technical guidance and provide guidance to juniors.
• Support bid proposals and work with a multi-disciplinary UK/overseas team to deliver integrated designs.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards and check/review own work and others'.
