Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer for our Design & Advanced Technology Practice in the UK. You will lead a mechanical design delivery team on complex water and wastewater projects for major water authorities.

The role offers hybrid working (3 days office/site) and requires collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams. You will mentor colleagues, ensure QA standards, and contribute to bids and overseas work.

Qualifications

• Leads a mechanical design delivery team within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts across teams.
• Proven ability to identify innovative design solutions and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of Mechanical engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Produce and review technical deliverables: design reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Provide input into project design deliverables and manage time/budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with client teams and other AtkinsRéalis teams.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and grow mechanical capabilities.
• Work independently with minimal guidance and provide guidance to juniors.
• Support bids with technical input.
• Work with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated designs.
• Adhere to QA standards including reviews of work.
