Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead design delivery on water sector projects, including pumping and wastewater treatment systems, delivering innovative, integrated solutions.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, mentor engineers, and work with clients to meet project milestones, while ensuring compliance with UK standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience coordinating or managing a mechanical design delivery team.
• Strong understanding of UK design standards and CDM/DSEAR regulations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and mentor others.
• Excellent communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of mechanical engineers on complex projects.
• Produce and review design deliverables, reports, drawings, and scopes.
• Provide technical input for mechanical aspects and manage time/budgets.
• Collaborate with clients and AtkinsRéalis teams to deliver solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support bid proposals.
• Ensure compliance with QA standards and design codes.
