Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design delivery within the Water market for high-profile UK projects. You will coordinate a team across pumping systems, water and wastewater treatment designs, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams both in the UK and abroad.

The role requires Chartered or Incorporated status, strong leadership, and a deep knowledge of UK design codes.

Qualifications

Chartered or Incorporated Mechanical Engineer with UK design knowledge.
Experience leading mechanical design delivery teams in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Strong understanding of UK design standards, CDM and DSEAR.
Experience with Water market projects is preferable.

Responsibilities

Coordinate or manage a team of Mechanical engineers for delivery of design work on complex projects to high-quality levels.
Produce and review technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work.
Provide input into mechanical design deliverables and manage time and budgets to milestones.
Collaborate with client, operations, project, and service teams.
Mentor less experienced colleagues and grow local capabilities.
Work independently with minimal technical guidance and provide direction to junior members.
Support bid proposals with technical input.
Work with UK and overseas multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated designs.
Adhere to QA standards with thorough check and review of work.
