Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of mechanical design for water and multi-disciplinary projects in the UK. The role covers coordinating teams, quality design, and liaison with clients and internal disciplines.

Based in a hybrid setup across UK offices, the role offers opportunities for growth, mentoring, and delivering iconic projects with a focus on safety, standards, and innovation.

Qualifications

• A Mechanical Engineering degree and Chartered or Incorporated status.
• Proven experience coordinating mechanical design delivery in a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
• Strong problem-solving skills with broad design integration of pumps, blowers, screens and dosing systems.
• Knowledge of UK design standards, CDM and DSEAR regulations.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Experience in Water market projects is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of Mechanical engineers for delivery of design work on complex projects.
• Produce and review technical deliverables such as reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Provide technical input into Mechanical aspects of multi-disciplinary projects and manage time and budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with client and AtkinsRéalis teams across UK and overseas.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and grow local capabilities.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards and check own work and others' work.
