Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking an Associate Director Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of complex mechanical design for water sector projects. You will oversee a team of engineers, ensure compliance with design codes, and manage milestones across multi-disciplinary programs.

The role requires Chartered Mechanical Engineer status, a broad perspective for innovative solutions, and strong communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
• Proven experience leading large-scale mechanical engineering design delivery for a design consultancy in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions and challenges the status quo.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects following design codes and standards.
• Develop project design deliverables for mechanical aspects and manage time/budgets to milestones.
• Produce and review technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Provide technical leadership within the regional and national D&AT practice and influence practice-wide initiatives.
• Grow and manage the mechanical engineering capabilities within the practice.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Advise clients and project teams on technical aspects and bid proposals.
