Job summary

Cressida Consulting is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own end-to-end design of bespoke automation machinery, from concept to commissioning. You will collaborate with electrical and controls teams to deliver integrated robotic cells and complete systems for diverse industries.

The role focuses on hands-on design, CAD-driven development, and on-site factory acceptance, enabling rapid prototyping and tangible manufacturing improvements.

Qualifications

• CAD proficiency in Inventor or similar software.
• Strong understanding of motion systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Practical mindset and willingness to work on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke automated machinery using 3D CAD.
• Create detailed component and assembly drawings for manufacture.
• Design integrated mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with controls and electrical teams to develop robot and automation cells.
• Participate in build, testing, commissioning and client acceptance.
