Job summary

Owen Daniels in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a permanent, on-site role. You will design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD, with SolidWorks preferred, and produce detailed drawings and calculations.

You will work across marine sector projects, liaise with suppliers, present designs to customers, ensure manufacturability, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Strong 3D CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks preferred, others considered).
• Solid understanding of maths, physics, and engineering principles.
• Confident in customer-facing situations and technical presentations.
• Experience liaising with suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with a proactive learning mindset.
• Ability to manage workload independently.
