Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join on a permanent basis in Birmingham. You will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD, with SolidWorks preferred, and produce detailed drawings for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Produce detailed 3D model manufacturing drawings, FEA experience and hand calculations
• Work on a variety of engineering projects across the marine sector and related industries
• Present technical designs and solutions to customers
• Liaise with external suppliers including metallurgists and R&D teams
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements
• Support design reviews, modifications, and continuous improvement activities
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation in line with company standards

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications

• Experience liaising with suppliers and external stakeholders
