The role focuses on providing strategic financial leadership to SMEs and owner-managed businesses, with client-facing responsibilities and team leadership across a dynamic multi-office setup.

The ideal candidate has ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications and proven leadership in an outsourcing environment, with strong commercial awareness and exceptional

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in an outsourcing function in an accountancy practice.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong background with UK SMEs across sectors.
• Excellent commercial awareness and ability to drive financial strategy.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence presenting financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Exposure to high-growth, scale-up or turnaround environments.
• Experience with fundraising, M&A or exit planning.
• Broad sector exposure including professional services, technology or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
• Support senior management and boards with financial performance and growth strategies.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and management accounting processes.
• Review and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and HMRC obligations.
• Attend and lead regular client meetings to review performance.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a main point of contact.
• Collaborate with audit, tax and payroll teams.
• Identify financial risks and implement controls.
• Coach and mentor client finance teams within the outsourcing function.
• Develop and manage team members within the outsourcing function.
