Outsourcing Manager / Senior Manager – Accountancy Practice

Location: Guildford, Surrey
Salary: From £47,000, depending on experience and appointment level
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–5.30pm. Alternative working patterns considered.

Placr Recruitment is recruiting an Outsourcing Manager / Senior Manager for a growing, multi-office accountancy firm in Guildford. The firm provides accountancy, taxation, payroll, advisory and financial planning services, combining technical expertise with a modern, commercially focused approach.

This is an opportunity to work closely with ambitious SMEs and owner-managed businesses, becoming a trusted adviser and helping shape their financial strategy. The emphasis is on client advisory and financial oversight rather than direct line management.

The role

You will support clients with financial planning, reporting and strategic decision-making, translating complex financial information into clear, practical advice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising business owners and boards on financial strategy, growth opportunities and long-term business performance.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting to support informed decisions.
• Ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance and high-quality statutory reporting.
• Taking an active role in regular board-level client meetings, challenging assumptions and providing forward-looking advice.
• Building strong, lasting client relationships and understanding each business's priorities.
• Working closely with audit, tax, payroll and wider specialist teams to deliver a coordinated service.

About you

You will bring strong accountancy experience, commercial awareness and the confidence to advise business owners and senior stakeholders. You should be comfortable interpreting financial information, explaining what it means and turning that insight into practical recommendations.

Experience supporting SMEs or owner-managed businesses, alongside a strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, will help you succeed. Clear communication, sound judgement and a collaborative approach are central to the role.
