Our award-winning client urgently seeks a professional to source a Junior Engineer to join their expanding team. The Junior Systems Engineer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining systems. The role involves supporting server-related tasks across the company and collaborating with the lead system administrator and software team on new solution designs.

The ideal candidate will have a senior-level technical background in infrastructure and experience in delivering technical solutions.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining systems. They will assist with server-related tasks across the company and work with the lead system administrator and software team on new solutions.

This role requires someone with a strong infrastructure implementation background and practical experience in delivering technical solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS

• Proficient in Linux across multiple distributions
• Strong scripting skills in BASH or similar languages
• Some programming knowledge, though not necessarily their strongest skill
• AWS experience, preferably with a developer or related qualification
• Experience with other cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure)
• Networking experience, limited to cloud environments is acceptable
• Automation experience with tools like Ansible or GitLab Runners; strong expertise in at least one is required
• No management skills required
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience; 6+ years preferred
