Senior Linux Engineer

Our client is a technology-driven cloud service provider. They are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer responsible for the smooth operation of their RedHat-oriented technology stack.

Essential skills for the Senior Linux Engineer:

• Manage internal and external IT and computer systems including:
• RHEL/RedHat Linux Servers
• MySQL, MSSQL, and Postgres databases
• iSCSI SAN Technologies
• XenServer clustered virtualized environment
• Splunk Logserver
• System monitoring
• Network configuration and management
• Firewall configuration and management
• Microsoft AD and Remote Desktop Services (Windows Server 2019)
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Korn, C, Shell, etc.)

Desirable skills:

• M365/MS Exchange
• Container-based infrastructure (Docker/Kubernetes)
• IP-based phone systems
• Linux certifications
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS)
• Dell server hardware

Daily responsibilities include:

• Maintain the company's disaster recovery infrastructure
• Monitor key systems to ensure availability and capacity requirements are met
• Schedule and prioritize I/O tasks
• Collaborate with senior management to develop, implement, and coordinate systems and procedures
• Ensure systems and procedures comply with security policies
• Audit systems to identify issues
• Ensure systems meet company SLAs
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly

Personal qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Linux hardware/software systems and technical management
• ITIL experience
• Team-oriented, motivated, innovative, diligent
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
