Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Engineer - Lighting to lead asset needs assessment and develop early solutions for the lighting asset class in the South East region. The role requires Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status and a degree or HND in a relevant discipline, with strong knowledge of asset condition assessment and DMRB standards.

External candidates start at the lower end of the payscale, and the organisation welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.

Qualifications

Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer with relevant experience.
Degree or HND in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of asset condition assessment and degradation modelling.
Familiarity with DMRB standards and highways network application.
Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate activities to identify asset needs and develop early solutions.
Ensure health and safety considerations are integrated in planning and delivery.
Develop early solutions for improvements and renewals, with supporting documents.
Monitor delivery of early solutions and liaise with teams to resolve issues.
Maintain asset data and condition information in relevant databases.
