Job summary

National Highways in the South East invites applications for a Senior Engineer - Lighting to lead asset needs identification and early solution development within the asset class.

You will ensure adherence to asset policies and standards, drive safety, and coordinate resources, while applying DMRB standards and degradation modelling.

This role requires Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, a related degree, and a track record in highways lighting projects.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with relevant experience.
• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience.
• Strong knowledge of asset condition assessment and degradation modelling.
• Knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highways network.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees during planning and delivery of each service activity.
• Lead and coordinate the activities and resources involved in the identification and evaluation of asset data to develop early solutions.
• Lead the development of early solutions for improvements/renewals, including documents, evidence and options for value management, considering new techniques, materials, buildability, and costs.
• Monitor the delivery of agreed early solutions and plans, liaising with relevant teams to identify and rectify issues.
• Ensure asset data and condition information is captured and maintained in relevant databases in line with standards and timescales.
